Russians Hack Broadcasting Hilarious Fake News About Zelenskyy's Health

Updated: Sep 11, 2022

Recently, a local Ukrainian radio, TVAR Media, was the victim of a Russian cyberattack, where a hilarious fake message about President Zelenskyy was in poor health.

The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSSCIP) shared a statement reading," cybercriminals spread information that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is allegedly in intensive care, and his duties are performed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk."

The leading company, based out of Kyiv, is responsible for nine other radio stations, including Hit FM, Radio ROKS, KISS FM, Radio RELAX, Melody FM, Nashe Radio, Radio JAZZ, Classic Radio, and Radio Bayraktar.

Later on, in a Facebook post, TAVR Media disclosed a message clarifying that the first message was the result of a cyberattack and that there was "no information about the health problems of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is true."

President Zelenskyy posted on Instagram saying, "I have never felt as healthy as I do now" and that he wasn't a decrypted 70-year-old, a subtle poke at Russia's Putin.
