Initially, there was widespread speculation that Meta was working on changing its policies after the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the US Supreme Court; these rumors are true.
Although Meta continues to deny it ever changed its policies concerning Roe v. Wade, pro-choice activists say censorship isn't new but has been going on for years. In an interview from WIRED, several activists shared their outrage on the company's use of AI moderation tagging any abortion content, therefore deeming it a violation of its guidelines.
